THE VISION OF OUR NEW RECTOR 

We seek a strong, energetic spiritual leader who is first of all comfortable working with a congregation that is very diverse in all forms, and strives to make sure everyone feels accepted and equal. It is important to the members of St. Elizabeth that the new Rector is enthusiastic about doing the Lord’s work in everyday life, and shares his or her enthusiasm with the members. 

Our Rector must be a strong believer in the Episcopal faith and its traditions.  The Rector should be a teacher – one who can quench the member’s thirst for Christian education and help us to develop spiritually.  

We look forward to having a Preacher who can preach outstanding sermons for both children and adults. 

Our Rector must be caring and compassionate, and be willing to visit and minister to those who are sick and bereaved, and be a counselor for those who are going through life’s difficulties. 

It is equally important that our new Rector is a good administrator, who can work closely with the Vestry in creating and implementing plans and new programs.  We seek one who is flexible and will be committed to working with all of our boards, clubs and committees.  St. Elizabeth’s is all inclusive, and the Rector must be able to share and delegate responsibilities to staff and parishioners when possible. 

We seek a Rector who is experienced in church growth.  It is important that we develop and grow our membership, recognizing that we must endeavor to maintain the interest of the current members. 

It is extremely important that our new Rector is able to develop programs dedicated to our youth, and encourage them to become active participants at St. Elizabeth’s. 

We hunger for a Rector who will bring vitality and new ideas to our church, hold services that are inspiring, and make each member excited about coming to Church on Sunday mornings.
